Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Kimi Katkar, Gauahar Khan, Lali Dhawan & many more at the private viewing of Anu Malhotra’s artshow.
All proceeds of the show to benefit the Shilpa Shetty Foundation, which thrives to transform the lives of orphan children and contribute towards the development of society.
The stunning Shilpa Shetty took some time out of her busy schedule and inaugurated “Flow Dreams”, the Art show of dear friend Anu Malhotra at Art and soul gallery in Worli. Braving the unstoppable rains of Mumbai and the bumper to bumper to traffic, Shilpa reached the venue, all smiles and spent a lot of time indulging in deep conversation with the artist regarding each painting. Looking gorgeous in a pastel crop top & palazzo ensemble, with a 100 watt smile and a body to die for, she was also spotted hanging out with the other guests at the event as well as the media.
Anu and Shilpa date back to a long time ago when Shilpa was a part of her HIV/AIDs awareness campaign, Haath Se Haath Milaa and their friendship has only grown since. Mr Shetty Kundra’s philanthropic side has been quite a topic of conversation amongst all due to the several health and society related events she attends as well as the SHILPA SHETTY FOUNDATION. The aim of the foundation is to cover as many orphanages as possible and help them fund their day-to-day running expenses, thereby uplifting and empowering the children with basic facilities. The SSF also aims to nurture the children by strengthening and reconstructing the existing structures which includes education, medical help, accommodation and entertainment, thus giving them a better life and a brighter future. “Today is about celebrating Anu and her creative facet and nothing surprises me when it comes to her because I know whatever she puts her hands into, literally, she will give it her best. I’ve seen your art before and am the proud owner of two pieces of your work, one of which I put up in my house today. I am proud & happy; Proud because you are a dear friend and are doing a terrific job and happy because your paintings make my heart happy and it has so many connotations. I never speak about the Shilpa Shetty Foundation but since Anu has worked with me before and understands how I feel about this cause, I will. I have taken it in my stride to start this foundation with my husband to create awareness and do something from my end and you very kindly put forth the idea of donating the proceeds of this exhibition towards the foundation” says Shilpa.
Further, the who’s who of Mumbai was seen at this momentous show like such as Gauahar Khan, Lali Dhawan, Kimi Katkar, Arti Surendranath, Sunil Gover, Ali Asgar and several others ! Art lover and owner of Art & Soul, Tarana Khubchandani said “it’s incredible to see the camaraderie between these two. Anu’s films have spoken volumes about her but what is lesser known is her incredible passion and creativity and we hope this is the beginning of a spiritual and long journey at Art & Soul.”
All in all, we all love art especially when it warms the heart, don’t we? Love the initiative Anu has tagged her exhibition with. The SSF is surely lucky to receive such a donor!—
