John Abraham Unveils 11Th Edition of Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon

In the Ten years since the inception of the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon SCMM in the year 2004 SCMM Brand Ambassador John Abraham With Host Tara Sharma  The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon(SCMM) 2014 Gets Bigger In PRIZE And PARTICIPATION,The 11Th Edition of (SCMM) promises to be bigger and better in volumes in 2014,The Countdown to the 11Th edition of SCMM was announced by Procam International in the presence of Government dignitaries,the Hon’ble Mayor of Mumbai,Sunil Prabhu,Sunil Kaushal -CEO Standard Chartered,The Title Sponsors,Vishal Jhunjhunwala Head Corporate Brand Tata Consultancy Services,Associate Sponsors,Event Brand Ambassador John Abraham and various partners at a glittering show hosted by Tara Sharma on Thursday 5th December at the Trident.The race will be held on January 19 next year.

With the numbers growing every year, Mumbai Marathon will also have a bigger purse for this edition. The promoters, Procam, have increased The prize money for the event has been raised by $10,000 to $3,60,000.

Top Indian male and female finishers will get Rs 5 lakh each,There are bonuses in place too with the winner grabbing an additional $15,000 for setting a new course record, the organisers said in a statement on Wednesday.

SCMM Countdown announcement hosted 300×197 The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon(SCMM) 2014 Gets Bigger In PRIZE And PARTICIPATIONThe event will have over 39,500 participants. The full marathon event has received 3,600 entries, while the Half Marathon has an unprecedented 14,200 entries, the release said.

The Senior Citizen’s Run will have 1,360 participants, while the Champions with Disability Event would have 200 participants. Besides, 20,150 people have registered for the Dream Run section, it added.

Even the Indians who script a new course record would receive Rs 1 lakh in addition to the Rs 5 lakh for the winners. The event is likely to witness 39,510 people running. The maximum of these numbers (20,150) have been registered to run the Dream Run, next comes the half marathon which will take up 14,200 runners, while only 3600 will go the whole hog (42.197kms).

The expo, the event that will help Mumbai runners collect their bibs, will be held at the  MMRDA Grounds near BKC from January 10 to 12 from 11 am to 7pm. For the outstation runners, an expo will be held on the day before the marathon from 11 am to 5 pm. Procam have launched a new initiative which will be called ‘Good Deed Marathon’.
